Special Summer Workshops

Reading Fundamentals for Preschoolers

Believe it or not, your preschooler isn’t too young to learn to read! Research shows that reading is one of the best predictors of school success, and children who have developed solid decoding and phonics skills as preschoolers are primed to take advantage of all that kindergarten has to offer. Join educational specialists Dr. Marguery Lyvers and Dr. Meg Cranston-Cuebas and learn how you can teach your preschooler early reading skills at home! In this small-group seminar, you will learn to:

  • Gauge your child’s interest and readiness for early literacy
  • Teach your child correct sound association strategies
  • Practice phonics the right way
  • Avoid pitfalls that can actually set your child back
  • Learn engaging and interactive activities in order to teach your child at home
